Introducing our new staff…
I joined the Hughson Team in 2018. My roles include preparation of Financial Statements and End of Year Tax Returns, GST Returns, and assisting with Payroll.
Previously I have worked in Hospitality, Retail and Facility Management. I enjoyed the financial side of these jobs, so I went on to complete a Diploma in Accountancy. I love being involved with my community, and have been on numerous Arts and Cultural, and Sports Committees.
I have lived in South Taranaki with my husband and 3 children for the past 10 years. We are a sporting family, so a lot of time is spent cheering on from the side line. I also enjoy gardening, sewing and walks with my Dog.
You will find Clare in our Hawera office on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday and in our Opunake office on Monday and Thursday (9am to 3pm). If you are based in Opunake, please feel free to call in and see Clare. Brenda Pittams will still be in our Opunake office every Wednesday, 10.00am – 3.00pm.
I have had over 10 years experience as an Accounting Technician, firstly with Vanburwray Chartered Accountants, then Schurr & Ireland Limited (formerly C F Schurr Limited), predominantly dealing with agricultural clients. Also seven years working as a taxation tutor at WITT. Love working in practice since it allows the interaction with a wide range of clients & industries.
Currently I am working towards a CA designation as I gained my Bachelor of Business in 2017 after many years of studying part-time. I enjoy study & learning new skills which I then can pass on to other people.
I have four grown children and two grandchildren whom I support in their education, cultural and sporting activities. My personal interests are camping, hiking and recently – learning how to breed & show cats.
